PETER BROUGHAN - Producer & Founder, Rob Roy Films

Peter Broughan developed and produced Rob Roy (United Artists, 1995) – at the time the biggest feature film ever to be made entirely in Scotland. It enjoyed both commercial and critical success and secured an Academy Award nomination and a BAFTA Best Actor award for Tim Roth.

Peter also originated, developed and produced The Flying Scotsman (2006), the remarkable true story of bipolar Ayrshire cyclist Graham Obree. It was the opening film of the 60th Edinburgh International Film Festival and was nominated as Best Film in the 2006 BAFTA Scotland Awards. It was acquired for worldwide distribution by MGM. 

Peter’s feature career began in 1981 when he worked as the BFI Production Officer (In-House Producer) on Peter Greenaway’s groundbreaking The Draughtsman’s Contract.
